Introduction and Announcements

Hello everyone, it's been a long time since I sat down and genuinely blogged but with everything going on it feels like an appropriate time to dive back into this.

Let's start with the basics: My name is Shatice, most people call me Shatty. I'm 23 years old, I'm a college student, and I live in Florida. I'm an artist and an independent publisher.

I look like this.

I have been publishing since I made my first zine and just never let up. That was eight years ago now. That path has led me to this point – 2.13.96 is my "final form", if you will. My hope is that this can stand as the foundation for all my artistic endeavors and allow me to connect with you all on a genuine level, giving you a real experience with art in its various forms.

I'm proud to announce that I am currently working on three (3) new projects:
  1. Feral: a book of original art and writing by me
  2. Sympathy: a photo book of Polaroids I've taken spanning the years 2016-2019
  3. Fucked: a group zine about our dystopian reality
Life of Delinquency Magazine still exists, much to someone's chagrin I'm sure. I haven't decided the new release frequency of it quite yet. I was going to do monthly releases, but with school back in session that won't be easy, nor ideal with these three behemoth projects on my plate. It's stuck by me since I was 19 though, so trust me when I say it isn't going anywhere.

I'm committing myself to using this blog regularly for several things. Expect to see a mix of my personal life, work in progress updates, news and announcements, art history/inspiration, and anything else that finally has somewhere to land now that I've made this.

Thank each and every one of you for being a witness to this journey. Some of you have watched this (and by extension: me) grow from nothing to something that constantly surprises me with its reach and impact. Here's to seeing what this next chapter is all about.
